Stefanie Gerstmayr, Rolf-Maria Krückels and Ezra Moth will present a collaborative performance piece combining drawing, animation and movement at Mothership in Brooklyn. It is based on Rolf-Maria´s Drawing Machine project.
The Drawing Machine is a vehicle which becomes activated by two or more participants, creating a form of direct communication without words. The process creates a situation of vulnerability and contact in which people generate an image together which is not a representation, but rather a poetic manifestation of their encounter.

The Open Studios 2021 are just around the corner! The PLATFORM opens its doors for a weekend and offers those interested the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and into the artists‘ studios.
The studio artists work in a wide variety of fields, including photography, painting, graphics, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, textile art, sound art, jewelry design and media art. Visitors are cordially invited to get to know the creative workspaces and their residents. Guided tours (DE & EN) are offered during the Open Studios and refreshments can be enjoyed in our pop-up café after the studio visit.

Chronos & Kairos

In ancient Greece Kairos represents the moment of opportunity, the perfect instant. If you can´t catch their forelocks in time, they vanish without you – following behind is not possible due to their bold back of the head. Chronos however preserves the order and chronology of history.
Although our daily live depends on the idea of time as a linear process, in our physical reality we are only able to precieve it as a neverending present. In the NOW we are compositions of multiple exposure of all gone versions and future potentials of self.
This contradiction became the foundation of a collaboration between Stefanie Gerstmayr and Rolf-Maria Krückels. In the exhibition space murals communicate with drawings in ink and objects.
